With grateful Thanks to our Demonstrators

October and a packed room was treated to an amusing selection of jokes, hints, tips as well as a demonstration of watercolour from Joe Dowden an exceedingly animated Artist.

The best tip he gave I think was to "Mix plenty of paint" as well as be prepared to slosh it about.

Jo's light filled paintings emerge from carefully measured and plotted beginnings

From washes to finished painting

Buckets of water and trays of paint brought us this light filled watery scene

September a month of sunsets and wildly varied weather.

Ella Moonbridge gave us a detailed demonstration on how easy it is to capture the effect of light on water with a view towards Beachy Head.

I hope it gave you all the impetus to go out and capture the sparkling quality of light on water.

August and Mark Fisher gave a packed room a colourful demonstration on how a limited palette of colours can be used to create a bright fresh countryside scene. Using Acrylic paint and his instantly recognisable SPLATTER technique he gave us a rendition of soft meadow grasses against a hazy distance.

The July demonstration by Adrienne Parker brought us a lesson on how to combine Acrylic Ink and Soft Pastel Pencils to create a vibrant and colourful view of the courtyard at the RA. Full of colour with the briefest mark describing detail, shape and form.

The main lessons Adrienne left us with were to "Have a Go"  loosen up and mostly ENJOY it.
